National Trade Union Center Founding Convention.

August 18, 2018, Quezon City

August 18, 2018, as the popular belief that "8" is a lucky number, will always be memorable and meaningful to Smp Natow and the newly established National Trade Union Center (NTUC). On this day, the new direction for labor movement has been chartered by responsible and able trade union leaders across the country. NTUC will be the largest labor center which is composed of 19 federations and whose membership is aimed at genuine, democratic, progressive and workers-oriented programs and activities. Most of its founding leaders are well-respected in virtually all industry and service sectors. SMP-NATOW represents the largest group of teachers and office workers; heading its delegations is Sis. Milagros Ogalinda, the Secretary General.

"Ito ang pagtatatag ng bagong sentro ng paggawa. Ang landas na ating tinatahak ay hindi madali. Ating pangunahan ang paglulunsad ng tunay na kakatawan sa mga manggagawa upang matugunan natin ng mas progresibo, depenidong aksyon ang pangangailangan ng bawat mamamayan" - Atty. Ruben Torres, Convention Chairperson

Sis. Milagros Ogalinda SMP-NATOW's Secretary General, is elected as NTUC's treasurer and will serve for five years on her first term. You truly do not stop bringing our federation to higher grounds ensuring teacher's voice is always heard loud and clear! Kudos!

Let us welcome NTUC to the fold and annals of trade union movement! Congratulations to the elected officers!

Solidarity forever! NTUC! Yes na yes na yes!
